Bushbuckridge
Local Municipality is a presidential nodal
point located in the south- eastern part of Limpopo
Province and northeastern part of Mpumalanga Province.
The municipality is one of the two constituents
of the former Bohlabela District Municipality (Within
Ba-Phalaborwa Local Municipality) further north,
Fetakgomo Local Municipality in the west. The Municipal
area provides a link to Lydenburg and other centres
in the lowveld, particularly Hoedspruit, Pilgrim
Rest and Graskop. Bushbuckridge Local Municipality
can therefore be called the gateway to the major
tourism attraction points in Mpumalanga and the
eastern part of the Limpopo Province.

BUSHBUCKRIDGE JOINED THE WORLD IN CELEBRATION OF MANDELA DAY |

In celebrating Mandela day, the Executive Mayor of Bushbuckridge Clr. Milton Morema flanked by MMC’s and Councillors painted Ntokozweni Crèche in Alexandra at 09h00 and then had lunch with senior citizens at 12h00 in Marite Community Hall on the 18th July 2010. The painting forms part of the 67 minutes of community services and each ward identified five senior citizens who were ferried to and from the event.

Bushbuckridge Local Municipality in association with the provincial department of Human Settlements hosted a Career Expo at Oakley Community Hall, on the 30 July 2010. Low matric pass rate, teen pregnancy, and high school drop-out and alcohol abuse in Bushbuckridge compelled Mpumalanga provincial government to stage a career expo in a bid to up matric results

THE OFFICIAL LAUNCH OF CASTEEL THUSONG SERVICE CENTRE |

Casteel Thusong Service Centre which has been operational for four years was officially launched, on the 24 June 2010 by the MEC of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Honourable Norman Mokoena and Bushbuckridge Executive Mayor Clr. Milton Morema, at Casteel region. Casteel Thusong Service Centre is situated next to Ga-Mthakathi village and is about 20 kilometres from Bushbuckridge Local Municipality‘s headquarters along the R40 road.
