COMMUNITY MEMBERS WARNED OF HEAVY RAINFALLS
Bushbuckridge local municipality Disaster Management Centre would like to issue a warning and sensitize its community members during these heavy rainfalls that are currently taking place between the Mpumalanga and Limpopo Provinces. The municipality is asking those living next to the low-lying areas or flood line zones to move up hill areas as more and more windy rainfalls are still expected and most rivers to burst its banks and as a result this may cause serious danger or even deaths particularly to those living next to the rivers.
We would also like to warn community members to stay in house, parents to safe guard their young ones, school kids to avoid crossing rivers and small bridges as most rivers are overflowing but instead use main roads to walk to school, motorists to reduce speed and switch on their head lights due to slippery roads on course. Villages under the spotlight are currently Saselani and Buyisonto where houses have flooded away and Disaster Management Officials are giving assistance.MORE>>
