GRACE BIBLE CHURCH OFFERS A HELPING HAND
As a result of the heavy rains which were experienced in Bushbuckridge and other parts of Mpumalanga Province on the 16th – 17th of January 2012. The municipality experienced a flooding that resulted in most infrastructure badly damaged, such are: Roads, Bridges, Schools and Houses. To that end more than 150 houses collapsed across the region resulting in such families wondering around.
As government attempts its best to remedy the situation on, the municipality was happy to join hands with Grace Bible Church from Soweto. The church’s entourage which was led by Pastor Sono descended to Bushbuckridge on Saturday the 28th January 2012 to donate more than 1500 food parcels and more than 1500 blankets and clothes which were delivered to the victims .This event was held at Dwarsloop Civic Centre which houses both the municipality’s regional office and the municipality’s Disaster management centre .
The event was honoured by the presence of the Executive Mayor of Ehlanzeni District Municipality Cllr Letta Shongwe, Executive Mayor of Bushbuckridge Local Municipality Cllr Renias Khumalo, The Deputy Speaker of Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature Honourable Violet Sewela and Officials from (COGTA) Cooperative Governance & Traditional Affairs, (EDM) Ehlanzeni District Municipality and (BLM) Bushbuckridge Local Municipality including Ward Councillors for Bushbuckridge.
